Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Surveyor role based in West Bengal, India. The Surveyor will conduct field surveys related to Corporation Opinion Poll Elections, including visiting assigned locations and wards, interacting with voters and respondents, and accurately recording their responses using digital or paper tools. Daily responsibilities include following structured questionnaires, ensuring representative sampling, collecting ward-level opinion data, and submitting completed surveys and reports within set timelines. The Surveyor will coordinate with field supervisors, participate in briefings and trainings, and adhere to company protocols for data integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct. The role may involve travel within assigned Corporation areas of West Bengal, working in diverse communities, and occasional extended hours during peak election periods.
Qualifications
• Ability to conduct structured field surveys, interact respectfully with voters and respondents, and accurately record data.
• Basic data handling skills, including using mobile apps or tablets for surveys and organizing collected information for analysis.
• Strong communication skills in local languages such as Bengali and Hindi, along with clear and simple English communication for reporting.
• Attention to detail, reliability in following instructions, and commitment to ethical data collection and confidentiality.
• Comfort with on-site fieldwork, including travel within West Bengal and working in varied social and environmental conditions.
• Prior experience in survey work, political research, opinion polling, market research, or field operations is preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum educational qualification of high school completion; higher education in social sciences, political science, statistics, or related fields is an advantage.
• Knowledge of West Bengal’s local areas, Corporation wards, voter issues, and political environment will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
