Position: Children and Parent Programme Facilitator

Job Timings: Full Time Job 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM (Monday to Saturday)
Vidya & Child works in marginalized communities, exploring the unique potential in each child by
providing opportunities for value-integrated learning and development. The organization’s work
currently focuses in Noida, India, with funding from international and national corporate, funding
organizations and individual donors.
Vidya & Child has a School Education program for Nursery to Class 8 catering to close to 1600 children
and an After School Support Programme with an outreach of over 350 children from Class IX to Class XII
and beyond (in regular or open schooling or graduation). The programme involves academic and
financial support to children for their school education.
A very strong parent programme exists so that as a team the parent and Vidya & Child can support a
child through school and help him/ her finish school education. Our Arts & Performing Arts and Life Skills
programme caters to all children from Nursery to class XII

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
Objective: Child & Parent Engagement for School Programme (upto Class 8) and After School Support
Programme (Class 9 to 10)
• Child Engagement
o 70% of the work will be directly with children across different classes
o Direct Work with children
• Life Skills classes
Class Teacher work / Class Owner Work (as per assigned classes)
Gender & Sexuality
Exposure & Projects
o Designing and Planning Gender & Sexuality and Life Skills Content and Training plans (for self and for
teachers)
o Filling up Child profile documentation for records and going through records maintained by teachers
o Maintaining Childwise records and outreach Trackers for Child & Parent Engagement (Excel)
o Direct work with children facing difficulties or needing special attention
o Supporting teachers and programme for Attendance tracking and related measures
o Participating and managing Assembly / Events with children & teachers
o Participating and facilitating Child-wise review process related meetings and identifying & tracking
actions for both children and families
• Parent Engagement
o Conducting Individual meetings and Home-visits
o Building stronger relationships with parents for ensuring sustained involvement in child’s education.
o Designing, Planning and implementation of Parent Engagement activities (Individual PTMs, Group
PTMs, Events, Home-visits)
o Direct work with families facing difficulties or needing special attention
o Overall Vision Building of families through Vision Building Process
o Maintaining related trackers / documentation
• Teacher Engagement
o Teacher enablement through various trainings / workshops – Child-wise engagement, Life Skills, Class
teacher work etc.
o Individual Meetings with assigned teachers for support, review and tracking of identified engagement
activities
o Supporting the teacher wise review process
• Overall
o Participating in programme meetings of School Programme and After School Programme for ensuring
overall management of the work in collaboration with other team members
o Collaboratively working with different stakeholders to ensure effective, robust and long term
engagement with children and their families
o Continuous thinking & work around building an atmosphere of positivity, learning and motivation for
children & families
Summary of Requirements & Qualifications
Must haves
• With minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in direct work with Child & Parent through Life skills, Gender & Sexuality, Exposure, Vision Building [not just general outreach / mobilizing work but a regular daily basis direct work]
• Ability to engage with children of different age groups
• Attitude towards learning
• Ability to think of positive reinforcement methods for working with children and families, A person who has an
ability to build stronger relationships with parents for ensuring sustained involvement in child’s education.
• Who has good organization capabilities and is methodical in her / his approach and is able to work
independently in a planned manner
• The person should be able to focus on detailing for each child.
• A person with knowledge on computers – good/working knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office – Word,
Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook etc. and Internet)
Preferable (good to have)
• Preferably with experience in development sector or educational activities with children of low income
families
• With strong ability and willingness for planning & documentation in detail for each child
• With good command over English language (written, spoken) and Hindi Language (written and spoken)
These positions require physical presence daily at the assigned centres except non-working
Saturdays and Sunday. Candidates with experience only should apply. Those with NGO
experience would be given preference. Staying within Noida and preferably close to the
centre location.
Salary will be commensurate as per the relevant experience & qualification of the candidate
and as per NGO/social sector standards.
